Nwamno Figure
A photograph depicting a multi-tiered vertical wooden sculpture from the Ika Igbo region. The sculpture consists of four horizontal registers: a topmost avian figure with a beak and wings resting on a geometric engraved disc, an upper tier of circumferential female figures with stylized faces and pronounced breasts, an intermediate divider, and a lower tier of circumferential female figures. The figures on the lower tier exhibit vertical linear cicatrization markings on the forehead and cheeks. The sculpture is mounted on a circular wooden base and is positioned against a background featuring a woven mat and a masonry wall.

Ogume is a kingdom composed of seven villages that trace their historical origins to the Benin Kingdom. The community maintains strong ancestral traditions, including the annual Ikenge cultural festival, where residents seek the benevolence of ancestral spirits to ensure success in the coming planting season. The town is situated within the Anioma region, a geopolitical area inhabited primarily by Igbo-speaking peoples, including those in Ndokwa and the Ika areas.
