Breaking News: Police Arrests Man Supplying Food and Arms to Gunmen in Anambra State
Police in Anambra State have made a significant breakthrough in the fight against crime by arresting a man who supplies food and arms to gunmen operating in various bushes across the state.
The suspect, whose name is yet to be disclosed, was arrested in Nanka, Aguata Local Government Area of the state while transporting three bags of cassava flakes, also known as garri, which were concealed with gunpowder.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspect was caught in possession of gunpowder hidden in the garri, which is a key ingredient in the production of Improvised Explosives Devices (IED) commonly referred to as local bombs.
In another development, police arrested one Nelson Wisdom in a criminal hideout in Oba, and a locally fabricated pistol and two live bullets were recovered from him.
In his statement, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam reiterated the police command’s commitment to continuing its operations to frustrate the plans of criminal elements in the state. He also assured that the suspects will be charged to court when investigation is completed.
